ICT INTEGRATION IN FOUR MAJOR SUBJECTS

      Globalization is irreversible. Information on technologies and economic forces made it inevitable as a feature of the last years of the twenty-first century and into millennium. It is gradually but surely making the world a global arena for all nations to play. 

       Rapid global technological and economic developments have placed greater demands on education systems. The need to inculcate among students the importance of lifelong learning, that is, to constantly seek new information,to think critically and to take initiative has become ever more pressing in our fast-changing world. Educating children to develop their effective thinking skill is now being identified as the fundamental goal of education.  Students must possess lifelong learning and thinking harmoniously in a high technical society, and to perform their tasks effectively
     
     As the present races towards the 21st Century, classrooms are also transforming into something new. The four walls of the classrooms are now transcending and distances are now spanned by non-traditional delivery systems. The chalkboards of the past are being taken over by multimedia and a white interactive board . For students, understanding lessons easily is one of the most difficult things to do specially for those in the lower sections. Teachers have a hard time preparing lessons which can be easily understood by students. Will they develop their fundamental skills- concentration, perception and memory, using the multimedia as medium of instruction?
    ICT Integration  is now in action in  Silanganan Elementary School (Caloocan City) in four major subjects: Math, Science, English and Filipino in where pupils showed their optimistic outlook towards learning in using computers  and interactive whiteboard. With an overwhelming result of eagerness, concentration and focus on the topic  presented by the teachers, it was indeed a helpful tool to encourage pupils to learn.
